DSCL has tied-up with Flughafen Munchen GmbH (Munich Airport International), which holds the World No. 3 Rank, to bid for the restructuring & modernisation of Airports, announced by the Government of India. Under the agreement, the consortium, under the name of ‘Indian Gateway Airports’, will jointly participate in the bidding for the modernisation and restructuring of Airports that have been identified by the Government of India. DSCL will be the lead member of the consortium with a share holding of 80% while Munich Airport International will have a 20% stake.
The Free State of Bavaria holds 51%, Federal Republic of Germany holds 36% and City of Munich holds 23% shares in Munich Airport International. Munich Airport International has a strong commercial focus with a turn over in excess of 842 million Euros in 2005. Non-Aeronautical Revenues in 2005 make up a share of 59% of the Total Revenues, including ground-handling concessions.
The consortium will form a Special Purpose Vehicle to undertake the work on the project, if awarded, and FMG besides doing the master planning will provide the services related to Management and Operations and the related Aeronautical and Non - Aeronautical Services and Environment Management, while DSCL will be responsible for Infrastructure Development and Construction.
